[18-12-2008] Deicide Australian tour
Known the world over as one of the founding fathers of Death Metal, Deicide stand strong to this day as one of the most influential and controversial metal bands ever. With a relentlessly brutal sound and uncompromisingly blasphemous lyrics, Deicide helped set the standards for Death Metal well over a decade ago and have maintained those standards ever since.

In March 2008, Deicide faced yet more controversy when a magazine revealed a leaked playlist of music that has been used to torture detainees, number one being the band's 'Fuck Your God'. Drummer/guitarist Steve Asheim was quoted as saying that he was glad they could do their part for the troops and was glad Deicide were able to contribute.

Deicide have battled through numerous protests, accusations and line-up changes, and yet remained true to the music and their fans. Despite their problems though, Deicide are still triumphing as a band, with music and live performances that continue to draw in ecstatic reactions from their rabid fanbase.

Deicide return to Australia in April 2009 for what could quite possibly be the final time. With a new album under their belt in 'Til Death Do Us Part', Deicide continue to deliver some of the most brutal, evil and satanic Death Metal on this god forsaken planet.

Tickets are on sale on Monday, December 22. Tour dates are as follows-

Sunday April 5th - QUT Guild Bar, Brisbane, 18+

Monday April 6th - The Corner Hotel, Melbourne, 18+

Tuesday April 7th - The Manning Bar, Sydney, 18+

Wednesday April 8th - Capitol, Perth, 18+

[17-12-2008] Contrive- new album plus Thailand shows
Melbourne Metallers Contrive has just confirmed some shows in Bangkok, Thailand in February 2009.

The band is close to completing pre-production on their forthcoming album set for release in early 2009.

"We're really excited to be playing in Bangkok, it's one of my favorite cities after visiting there four times and checking out their great established Metal scene, I'm sure we'll fit right in amongst it all," drummer Andrew Haug said.

"As far as the new record goes, we're nearly done! It will contain eight tracks, we've approached this record with a new mindset of openness and experimentation but don't worry there is still plenty of "tough riffs and beats" in there too ha - Horns! m/ "

The band will play a warm up show in Melbourne before they jet off, which also include some new tracks in the set list. You can catch them on Wednesday, February 4 at the Arthouse Hotel, Melbourne.

[07-12-2008] Killswitch Engage- new album details revealed
Killswitch Engage have announced the recording of their as-yet untitled fifth album for Roadrunner Records.

The album will follow 2006's 'As Daylight Dies', which is approaching Gold status in the US. 2004's 'The End of Heartache' has achieved Gold certification. For the first time in their career, the band will work with an outside producer and have chosen Brendan O'Brien (AC/DC, Rage Against the Machine, Pearl Jam and Stone Temple Pilots, to name a few) to man the boards. KsE guitarist Adam Dutkiewicz, a noted producer in his own right who has recorded all of the band's previous albums, will be taking a co-producer role on this record alongside O'Brien.

Killswitch Engage will spend the winter recording the album and will hit the road in the Spring for a major pre-release tour. As for whether or not it hits Australia, keep visiting PyroMusic for the latest news.
