[25-02-2010] Alestorm tour update
Avast, ye landlubbers! From the deepest darkest depths of eastern Scotland comes Alestorm, a drunken band of three mad Scots and one Irishman, setting sail to Australia on an epic quest to slay posers, drink beer, and steal our lands of all its metallic riches! Describing their style as "True Scottish Pirate Metal", Alestorm plays an infectious blend of folk and power metal in the vein of bands such as Turisas and Korpiklaani, but with a unique piratical twist. Their latest offering Black Sails at Midnight offers a treasure chest of sweeping Scottish Pirate Metal worthy of any loot-loving corsair. Irresistible growling choruses from the port side and lively keyboard melodies and heavy metal riffs from the starboard side form the basis of this highly explosive rum-induced metal mix.

Preparing for battle to defend our vast lands is Australia's own Claim The Throne. Inspired by ale and ancient battles, this quintet have become renowned for their exciting stage shows and unique brand of metal. In 2009, the mini-CD/DVD Aletales was released showcasing a more folk metal approach with greater production and songwriting to rival the leaders of the genre.

The dates are as follows-

June 17th - Amplifier Bar, Perth
June 18th - The Gaelic Theatre, Sydney
June 19th - The Corner Hotel, Melbourne
June 20th - Rosies, Brisbane

Tickets for all shows are on-sale on Thursday, March 4.
