[01-07-2009] Be'lakor national tour
A dark, melodic Death Metal band from Melbourne, Be'lakor has quickly come to be regarded as one of Australia's more promising and creative metal acts.
Two years have passed since the independent release of their debut, 'The Frail Tide'. In this time, the band's international reputation has grown rapidly on the back of high acclaim from reviewers and a dedicated and ever-growing fan base. Drawing influences from the natural world and the perpetual struggle between destruction and life, Be'lakor creates songs that take the listener on a compelling journey. Their highly anticipated second album, 'Stone's Reach', was released on June 20 through Prime Cuts Music/Riot and Be'lakor will be venturing across Australia for the first time, taking in performances in Melbourne, Adelaide, Brisbane and Sydney. See the Gigs-Dates page for more information.

[23-06-2009] Evile- new album update
British Thrashers Evile are ready to reveal to the world their brand new album, 'Infected Nations', which is due to be released on September 21. It is the follow-up to their 2007 debut 'Enter The Grave'.
"We can't wait for everyone to hear our new album, when we did 'Enter the Grave' two years ago it was made up of songs we had been playing for a few years and some written in the excitement of actually getting to record an album, we were happy to just be making noise but since then we've learnt a few things and we're more interested in making music," frontman Matt Drake said. "Evile fans can expect to hear a more mature offering, an album that concentrates on all aspects of what each member can do; it's a heck of a lot more focused, more satisfying and we're really proud of what we've achieved with it. Russ Russell has helped us to push ourselves to the next level and pull us out of the '80s. The whole retro thing has been cool but we feel it's time for us to leave that behind and stand up for ourselves and show people what we can really do, but fear not, it IS a Thrash Metal album, it is a 2009 Thrash Metal album, and we're dying to blow your minds with it."

[22-06-2009] Megadeth's Endgame
Heavy Metal institution Megadeth have announced 'Endgame' as the title of their 12th studio album. The album is expected to be released in September through Roadrunner Records. It was recorded at the band's self-built brand new studio, Vic's Garage, located near San Diego and named after the legendary and iconic Vic Rattlehead character.
'Endgame' is being produced by Andy Sneap and Dave Mustaine, who also manned the boards for 2007's 'United Abominations'. Some track titles include "Headcrusher," "1,320,'" "How the Story Ends" and "This Day We Fight!".
"Thematically, I've never been known to be a silent bystander in a world that needs our participation," Mustaine said. "As more is revealed about our former President's legacy, a little-known yet staggeringly frightening document, which was signed into law, named 'Endgame,' has been uncovered. The album 'Endgame' is the most energetic music offering I have penned in over a decade and is far more believable than knowing someone signed 'Endgame' -the document- into law. The album is also the perfect 'ass- kicking' music to listen to once you are done reading the aforementioned document!"
Megadeth's lineup consists of Mustaine, Broderick, bassist James LoMenzo and drummer Shawn Drover.

[17-06-2009] Contrive enter the studio
Melbourne's Contrive will enter Toyland Studios, Melbourne this week to begin recording the follow-up to their 2005 debut album 'The Meaning Unseen'. The album was mixed by Fredrik Nordstrom at Studio Fredman Sweden.
The band's drummer Andrew Haug issued this update-
"Finally, we're hitting the studio to record what has been dubbed by friends and even us as the 'Contrive Democracy'! Meaning, the album has taken what seems like an eternity to complete. There were several setbacks that can lay blame for this delay over the last few years including our bassist Tim's motor accident whilst holidaying in earlier this year. Am happy to report he's now all mended and ready to thrash! Ok, what can I say about the album without creating a long drawn out tangent on just how damn great it's going to be? Ha! Well I can tell you it will contain eight songs and musically? Well, WE DIG IT! You'll have to make up your own minds when it's done! More updates soon! Horns"
